"ANTICO MONTE"
extra virgin olive oil
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
ANTICOMONTE Extra Virgin Olive Oil is an exceptional product made from the finest indigenous varieties: Roggianella and Nocellara. Our olives come from the hills of the mountains of Cassano allo Ionio and the surrounding areas, all located in the heart of Pollino National Park, an unspoiled wilderness that produces an oil with a unique character.
These native olive varieties thrive thanks to the Pollino’s microclimate. Combined with centuries-old growing traditions, this gives every olive an intensity and complexity of flavour that makes this oil a true culinary treasure. The Roggianella and Nocellara cultivars are perfectly suited to this mountainous environment and produce high-quality olives for an oil that truly captures the authenticity of our region.
Cold Extraction: Purity and Unchanged Quality
To ensure the highest quality, ANTICOMONTE extra virgin olive oil is strictly cold-extracted. This process preserves all the nutritional and organoleptic benefits of the olives, such as polyphenols, vitamins and antioxidants, which are essential for good health and exceptional flavour. Every drop of this oil is fresh and pure, thanks to an extraction process that preserves its natural qualities.
Green Color and Intense Flavor
The resulting oil is a bright green, a sign of its freshness and quality. Its intense, fruity flavor, with delicate bitter and peppery notes, makes it ideal for enhancing any dish, adding depth of flavor to the dining experience. Every drop of ANTICOMONTE embodies the power of nature and the character of a genuine olive oil.
We offer 250 ml and 500 ml bottles, as well as 5 L aluminum cans, which you can also buy online, with shipping throughout Italy, including the islands.

"THE CASTROVILLARI ONION"
with a unique flavor and generous size
The Generously Sized Onion
It is a local ecotype of the species “Allium cepa L.”
Its excellent digestibility, well-balanced peppery notes, and bold flavor make this a highly sought-after product.
Our white onions are grown using traditional methods: from producing the seeds and preparing the seedbed in August, to transplanting the seedlings into parallel rows in November, and finally harvesting around the first ten days of July.
Since ancient times, although it was a signature product of Castrovillari cuisine, it was also known beyond the local area. At local fairs, shepherds from nearby Lucania would seek it out, trading their cheeses for it.
Today, the White Onion of Castrovillari is a food identity recognized by the D.E.C.O.

"CRUSCHI PEPPERS"
Typical Calabrian product
Cruschi Peppers
Precious Fruit
In Calabria, peppers are precious fruits.
The peppers used to make this traditional product have thin flesh and are small in size, making them ideal for drying.
The process for making cruschi peppers, or sun-dried peppers, is simple but very labor-intensive.
In fact, the peppers are harvested at the end of summer, fully ripe and with their typical reddish color. They are threaded by their stems onto a thick string using a large needle, making “Le reste” (rows of peppers strung together in a circle).
Hang the Reste outdoors in a sunny, well-ventilated area so they can dry without becoming moldy.
Once this stage of processing is complete, the product is stored in a dry place throughout the winter.
Cruschi peppers are an important ingredient in local cuisine and are used to prepare traditional dishes such as baccalà, polenta, and tomato salads with crushed olives. They’re also used in many preserved foods, including Calabrian cured meats, as well as in the preparation and preservation of cheeses and fish, such as salted anchovies and rosamarina, a true Calabrian delicacy.
