Watermelon or Cocomero, as it is preferred to call it in the central and southern regions of Italy, is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the Curcubitaceae family, typical of southern and tropical Africa.

This massive, heavy, and voluminous fruit is round or oval in shape. The seeds, hidden within the red, sugary, and very sweet pulp of the watermelon, can be black, yellowish, or white, with a typical teardrop shape. The outer rind of the watermelon is hard and bright green, streaked with light green slivers.

Thanks to its characteristics, it is the star of the summer, a thirst-quenching, refreshing and low-calorie fruit, capable of ensuring a precious, as well as abundant, water intake.

CURIOSITY':

WATERMELON is advertised as the passion fruit"

Many praise watermelon as a panacea for male sexual disorders, even celebrating this summer fruit as the most powerful natural remedy.

First of all, some truth has been demonstrated: watermelon contains citrulline, an amino acid that is an aphrodisiac because it can dilate blood vessels, consequently promoting erection.

Once in the body, citrulline is transformed into arginine, which can stimulate both the immune and cardiovascular systems: in the latter case, through vasodilation, it promotes greater elasticity in the blood vessel walls.

The problem is that citrulline is not found in the juicy, sugary pulp of the watermelon, but rather in the white part, commonly set aside,

The myth that watermelon is a cure for erectile dysfunction collapses if you don't also eat the part that isn't usually consumed.
